INSIDER Moves to Minneapolis to Record at Paisley Park

Vanderheyden relocates to Minneapolis to record at Paisley Park with Dr. Fink (keyboards — of Prince & The Revolution), Eric Leeds (saxophone), and producer Greg Cohen (later credited on records by John Legend, Lil Yachty, Nile Rodgers and Robin Thicke). An album is tracked but never officially released — and ends up in the Prince-estate vaults that have been the subject of ongoing excavation since 2016.

This is also the trip on which Vanderheyden first asks Dr. Fink to sell him the Amek mixing console used on Prince’s Dirty Mind. The answer this year is no. The desk doesn’t change hands for another twenty-two years.
